The Widow of the Sea She passed once more, around the sun knowing instinctively if she stopped . . . She took few chances, the Old Maiden of the Sea Once blue, now grayer and spotted with conflict Still noble, a moving tidal wave that had conquered hurricanes and wrinkled the forehead of Nature on many occasions. With calves in tow, her line and theirs split the sea into deep worlds of pea green and cobalt blue An angered moon sent its diffused smoky lamplight downward thru arcs of waterspouts They fired in timeless rhythm, like steamer chimneys with an elegance that shamed the Kings of the Sea And, as a thousand railbound eyes were paralyzed in awe with cow babies in a duckline behind she flipped her tail with a colossal smack acknowledging her thwarted enemy the Human (C) 2002 Picasso Lyrics |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Jeff, this is so very sad, I don't understand how man can be so cruel to such majestic creatures like our whale! (sad sigh) If I was a sailor I would be a superhero, I would be Whale Man and would hold back the forces of Mankind Man to protect all animals! LOL! Seriously, this is saddening and I wish I could reach out and save all these animals right now, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Very nicely done Jeff. I enjoyed it. As Noah said, it was very sad, but it is a sad subject. You shared it here well. |

Jeff There are so many things that man does that are hard to understand, and hurt some lovely things of the world...You write with empathy for the plight of this beautiful creature. Thank you for that, although it made my heart hurt. |

It troubles me, my friends, when man attempts to best every known animal, especially for sport, until little by little, their legacies are whittled away into splinters. There is a divine majesty about whales. 'haps it is their size, their song, their grace, but they are G*dlike in many ways, or at least, G*dsent. so it is their life and this poet is grateful for your heartfelt replies about how you were affected by the continuing story of our agression. Thank you, all. jeff |
