In Your Poetic Mind

You were swimming zephyrs
This and every morning
We spoke to the swallows
Condescendingly
Skipping through the sea foam rose gardens
And I played the piano for you
You said I looked quintessant and sanctified
Like a Stephen Shortridge print
And you distributed your Renoir blush
Giving me the pride to sacrifice the need to surmise
Confabulating my principles
And I could see through your glass
An unraveled smile --

sliding, down from a glass half full
in a harmony of time,            pressing liquid
I think of warm hands,

last night I listened to your music

touched two stones you sent--
for luck
this, this is how I spend my time
settling into solitude
the sides of my heart,
writings of a journal
I linger in winter
only wishing I was there
on Sunset Boulevard in my mind
hearing Don Henley's muse
sweeping like that new kid in town
Thinking how great it'd be to be back with you,
to feel tiffany-minded
Just this once, as I tumble this rock
Tight in the palm of my hand

you

Intoxicate my spirit
like wine,
tastings from  forgotten springs
    awaiting emotions
spiral before me
entrancement of simple beauty
I,  part of you

a bond that never ends

Excellent write. Isn't Noah a little young for this?

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I am so impressed with the maturity of this writing, and its flow and content.  What a great duet indeed.  I have saved it to read yet another day, and thank you both for your venture.
