The Wonders of Fall

Click here to play Autumn Leaves

I held a fallen leaf in my hand,
its colors warmed me to my soul.
I looked up at the sky to thank him,
Knowing this must have been his goal.

If I could paint my vision on canvas
and capture the colors of every tree,
I’d mix up all possible combinations
for an earthly and heavenly potpourri.

Each rose bush sheds its blossoms;
scented petals fall one after another.
Summer flowers without nourishment
in the fall soon fade and smother.

I’d paint fall’s soul in orange and gold
the colors dancing through my mind,
with shades of evergreen and ivy
clinging on with vines entwined.

I would paint you a sense of wonder,
so you might stop to pick up a leaf,
perhaps you’d look at it carefully
and it would strengthen your belief?

I think that fall’s a wonderful time
to marvel at the beauty he bestows,
look around at all the colors,
of falling leaves, or one last rose.

If ever there’s a doubt in your mind,
that hope has passed you by,
just look around at the wonders of fall,
and give thanks to the artist in the sky.

Yes, he will always see you through,
winter, spring, summer or fall,
He’s always there with open arms,
and all we need to do is call.

I love those golden fall colors, and the poem is equally lovely. Thanks Sharon, for an autumn smile.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Sharon, this is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, fall used to depress me so much because the thought of leaves dying and falling from the trees made me sad but now I truly see fall this way as promises he bestows on us all, yay! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderfully painted, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I disagree with Sunshine.  Your work does not hum ... it belts out an aria!

Oh Sharon, I am just blown away like the leaves of Autumn. This is just magnificent. The colors of Fall last such a short time and to be able to keep this poem and it's pictures is indeed a treasure that will carry me through the long winter.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Hugs, Marti

I am so sorry I posted a thank you note, and I bet I pushed the wrong button as I don't see it here...anyway...thank you all so much for reading this, I had my camera with me and took some photos as this is my favorite time of the year (2 belong to Webshots though).  The most important thing on my agenda for this coming weekend is to build a leaf house with the kids, then of course to kick it all down right Oh I hope you are enjoying what is left of the most vivid season of all before that winter hits, and it certainy makes me stand in wonder and awe, how about you?
