PUSH to play "SAILING MIDI" while reading

~* Sailing The Sea Of My Imagination *~

If you find I’m missing
you know where I will be …
sailing along in my imagination
caressed by an azure blue sea.

A gentle breeze fans my hair,
and sunlight tans my face.
I’m not one to sip mint juleps,
or sit tatting things of lace.

My friends now are so scattered
or marked with a crumbling stone.
the day will come that we meet once more,
and never again will I be all alone.

It won’t be long before I’m there
this reality will be gone,
so for now I’m content to daydream
with no plans, I drift along.

I sail along my sea of memories,
so grateful for each day break.
If I hit a choppy wave of loneliness,
I know laughter's in its wake.

So if you catch me missing,
you know where I will be …
sailing the sea of my imagination
where memories wash comfort over me.

Sharon...this is an exquistie write!
I love the sea...and look forward to a week away,
by the water very soon..
Even though I live two  blocks away...
A change is needed..and a rest.
Simply beautiful...also very nice choice of music and pic.

Sailing seas..memories washing over you. What a perfect scenario. Since  memories, for me, often seem so much better than the present.
Like this lots.

Mysteria - I love sitting near the ocean and getting lost in my imagination. As a matter of fact I'll be on Vancouver Island soon, doing just that...

Sharon,  aren't dreams and daydreams special?

no wonder children have so many smiles all
the time....

I enjoy an occasional daydream too....sure
does break up the day and make it more
fun....

Well this is bittersweet beauty...
lovely employ of theme and metaphor, and as always your poetically polished presentation of sight and sound...beautiful song.
Wonderful write Sharon...good to see you posting again

You know what?  I think you are about the greatest family a person could ever dream of having.  See, since I never had much of a family of my own I've sort of adopted you, and I have you ALL added as friends in my memory now.  A person could not ask for more, and dear friends I thank you for a wonderful welcome back with these endearing comments.

Balladeer - I have absolutely no retort none!

Martie - Thanks and so good to have the time to pop in more actually.

Kirishankins - Life has a way of being bittersweet doesn't it - so that is why we make the most of each day.  Thank you so much for reading and I loved your poem this evening as well - see my comment.

What a beautiful piece to start my morning with a tranquil state of mind. I loved your thoughts in this piece Sharon ... much to ponder here, as we move day to day, drifting through our imaginations in this reality. Beautifully done, my friend ... and such a compliment to the lovely picture. Well done!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Sharon-
Oh my...this REALLY got my mind going in so
many different directions.  I agree with
Janet Marie.  This is a very bittersweet write,
and for some reason it just grabbed hold of my
heart tonight, and got me all choked up.
It's been quite some time since a poem 'got'
me like that.
Thanks for taking me sailing with you tonight, my friend.
Hugs,
~Vicky

Vicky - thank you for "getting it", as I was in such a sad mood as I wrote that, a "thinking about all my losses" kind of mood, yanno, sometimes they creep in and you just go with them until they pass.   thank you for the read.

My favorite line. Good morning to you, Sharon! And how are the BC seas today?
BTW, I often think about that hike we took in the park with the suspension bridge. What a cool place!

Martie, I thank you for thinking something I did was special, that truly warmed me, as I am having trouble writing a thing since meeting all the "good and fine poets of Passions" in person for some reason.
