(Written for a friend who would like to paint again, to change what she now does and enjoy life) TIME FOR CHANGE Within a calling echoes that has laid asleep in peace It has pulled at strings of changing and my heart for its release There are passions and desires that do urge my hand to brush To step just back a little ways and well elude the rush Life’s time is ever changing and the drive of once has slowed I’m looking now for something that will veer me off the road To find just one thing I enjoy and through it find my soul And with each step of change and hope, then find what makes me whole To find a peace in solitude and future in each hand To find joy in creation as creators understand To give a canvas insight that the inner eye can see To offer world of bitterness a joy to set it free There have been the times of up and down, the torments and reprieve Times of risk and ponder that still now I can’t believe The feeling when a week went right, when life it shed no pain Was years ago, just so far back that memories just remain I’ll change my ways tomorrow, I tell myself each day One day leads to another as tomorrow drifts away I find myself repeating each fake promise that I make Watching it just drift away as another morn does break But still, a change is coming, as it echo’s I do sense The calling of fates challenge and its feel of precedence The person true that’s hiding in this mask that’s know as me Has decided to begin her life and set her worries free |

Rick, It is early Sunday morning and I am sitting here wondering what the future will bring. You have written a wonderful poem of hope and new beginnings. The timing of your poem for me is uncanny as I have been battling these questions for a long time and it is only this week that circumstances have given me, for better or for worse, the opportunity to review my life. I am free, I am free, for the first time in a long time. Thank you for this wonderful poem. I hope your friend gets to read it soon. Rick - I believe this is the first poem I've read of yours. I also have a friend that paints, and sketches, but it was taken away from her a time ago. All we can do is to encourage and pray that the spark is still there. I so much would like to see some of my friends work, I pray it will be soon... BC |

Dear Simplygold, thanks for your lovely reply, I sincerely hope your freedom leads you to happiness and fulfillment, as they say, do what you love and you won't work a day in your life. Have a great week. BC, thanks for the reply, I am sure the spark can somehow be rekindled, much lies dormant in us all, I hope that soon you will find a treasure of your friends work. May you have a great week as well. Sincerely Rick |
