She took pity on me More a pardon, really as she knew that I couldn’t dance but would, if pressed So, she deigned to dance with a pink young man wearing too new jeans over too new boots once he’d worked himself up enough, to ask And as I watched her bare feet trace patterns on that old wood floor I rued the fact that the simple glide of that jukebox two-step Had one more step than I could manage ~wranx In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward". |

Nicely penned! Don't forget, my name is on that dance card, and it's ok to do the slow-standing-in-one-spot dance. |

Sheesh, wranx. You attract the ladies even with a skip 'n' stumble. I like your interpretation of Iambe. Thanks again for reading my sad rendition of same. Hope Ron likes 'em! (keep writin'!) |

*beaming at you* She does seem to bring out some very interesting aspects of self--doesn't she? I'm sure Ron is loving this--I know that I am... So glad that you posted this--you have the voice of understanding deserving of her. *snaps* to ya, Ed. |

(smiling) Ed you have done her proud my friend... between you and Mike, both have cpatured the bewildering state of mind she leaves you in and how you wish you could be just a bit more...or perhaps understand a bit more... what it is that leaves you wanting to be. I always enoy anothers perspective on Iambe...and as I have explained she is not totally my creation and has been passed from poet to poet for some time, usually a lot quicker than her extended stay with me. Seems when she landed on my doorstep, she had worn out her welcome with too many others and it is noce to see she has found such welcome in the words of Mike and You. Perhaps there is a challenge in here...I think I'll drop it on the challenge board and see if you two are interested... again...I enjoyed and thanks for sharing your words and view of Iambe. |

You guys are doing very well with Iambe...every now and then a female poet steps in and takes her to new places...you will have to visit the archives to see how Iambe gets around! |
