In the circle neath the sun
The Gathering was well begun
Maureen came as Naked Thoughts
to see the spell that we had wrought
five days with her and we can't walk
from our laughter and her talk

Titia came from cross the sea
to bring her tales and poetry
My, Oh my she cried out loud
for she knows how to hold a crowd
just her accent is enough
to melt those hearts that would be tough

Marge and Bill on Thursday night
brought us tales of wild delight
they travelled hard and travelled long
to bring their gifts of poem and song
they saw the villa it was a house
but were polite and said it's grouse

Pilgrimage came soon to stay
from  Texas state so far away
Keth and Krissie volunteered
to pick her up and see her cheered
ideas and maps to us were tossed
but guess what we still got lost

Afternoon no sign of Sy
or Balladeer was passing by
there was no Fran or Isabel
were they lost too - just time would tell
finally they came around
we shared knuffle hugs with lots of sound

Laughter rang out through the night
when dogs set loose gave all a fright
merriment and happy tears
while we compared the joy of years
presents gifts and then some more
made us special to the core

Presents love were all exchanged
and the house was re-arranged
thirteen people on the floor
still we waited for two more
we missed our little Chipmunk friend
who came in late toward the end

We read and sang our hearts complete
with all the food we were replete
poems from each land were read
between Bill's songs filled up our head
the reminisces all were heard
they filled the air like song of birds

Music, dancing who wanted more
till Balladeer fell to the floor
no my friends he was not drunk
a broken bed had caused this funk
we laughed out loud and he did too
though his face was red and white and blue

One am and finally sleep
a million memories we will keep

*gouse is Ausssie for lovely, nice, unique.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

You all make it quite possible
that we will see the probable
in one huge poetry meet...
and that, my friends, will be
so sweet....

Thanx for sharing! I am so happy to have at least gotten a glimpse of the fun you all had and to "see" who was there.

BTW---I do not want to overlook the poetic skill you exhibited in presenting this delightful exerpt from your Dear Diary!

For your information, MR. TOERAG, that bed was constructed by the Marquis de Sade....and was probably that old, too! First, the bars drove into my back, along with the springs, so we had to blow up a rubber mattress with a hair dryer to put on top of it. Too bad you weren't there 'cause I could have used some of you rubber blowup thingies...then, when that was done, I simply shifted positions and went through the mattress. Finally we took the mattress off the bed, put the blow-up mattress on top of it and tried hard not to move all night- you know, like the way you and your ex used to make love. Anyway, it wasn't my fat butt!!!! (well, not all, anyway)

Yanno, Kethry... reading this isn't good for my health. *G* For every time I laugh, I go into a spasm of coughing... and though I thought I was pouting enough from missing the trip to not even crack a smile, your tale of Bal's bed did me in. ROFL... and coughing. *G*

And then you huffed and you puffed and you filled the mattress with one blow!!!

LOL and I have the pics to prove it!!!!

They all will be soon up for you to see, but I've made over 200 and I have to resize them in order to get them online.

SOON, very SOON you will see Deer's butt on the floor

Keth, dear girl, this is another of your gorgeous poems.

Hey, Keth, I thought we'd all agreed to keep quiet about the bed, and blackmail Balladeer. I was looking forward to my new Mercedes. Sigh. Too bad.

as I catch up on all my readings...I am
reminded of those special instances that brought laughter and those of tears when
poetry was read by all.
Each of us bringing our own personalities
to share in one gathering...
A lovely poem, saying so much...
now on to part 3 *s
