A brother and sister nestle into the
polyurethane comfort of neon beanbags.

After short yet heated debate each clasps
a hard plastic box umbilically attached

to a Nintendo, the latest progeny of video
game birthed by Higinbotham of the Brook-

haven National Nuclear Research Labor-
atory, Los Alamos, The Manhatten Project.

The chromatic allure (particularly the
red) coupled with wide ranging treble

to base promised hours of amusement. A
perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon

after a quick meal of Lunchables, while
an illegal alien did the laundry and

mommy met with friends to drink lunch
and daddy waited for his weekend turn.

There would be no arguement over who
got to be the bad guy in the newest game

Mortal Kombat, for the roles ambiguous,
their choices, Kano and Sonya Blade had

only the decision to punch the vanquished
head off, rip out spine or heart, to char

the body, explode the head with the little
yellow button before the Simpsons came on

and the stupid foreigner made them go
to bed and nightmares of hands that not

only got dirty but wouldn't come clean.

Oh my....
This is so sad, but true!
You have penned two very powerful pieces today Sir.

You've relayed a strong message here, and have done an excellent job in doing so!

Can't find the link today for a PRI news broadcast/essay that shows where as many as 25% of the 10,000 uniformed U.S. mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, aunts, neices in Iraq are being sexually assaulted by their own troops.

this 'episode' of human history is sheer madness, and just keeps escalating

remembering some lyrics

You got a stick,
so I got a gun.
You got a rock,
so I got a bomb.

or something like that
