Think I'll let my mind slip away and live in yesterday. I'll leave this old world far behind. Forget all I ever knew, this is what I want to do. For in yesterday I know I would be fine. I am slipping, slowly slipping. I can't stop and I don't know what to do. I can't hold on anymore, I'm not the same as before, I am slipping, daily slipping, far from you. I have no reason to hold on, I can't seem to go on. Clinging to a dream that was never real. Destiny played it's role, It left me in the cold, so back into a yeasteday I will steal. I am slipping, slowly slipping. Back to a time when I thought you might have cared. That was so long ago now that's where I want to go. Back to a time when I believed my dreams you shared. * That which gives light, must endure burning * |

I'm taking a punt here that whoever you wrote this to has read it. I do hope so. What a wonderful admission. It's impossible to tell if your dreams were the same as his but I relate to the option that perhaps they weren't. I hope it works/worked out. Thanks for sharing. I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?” |

I have often taken those trips into yesterdays. They're nice. Until they bring you back to todays. Nice one Kitty!!! Hey dog, did you see the size of that chicken!? |

My heart is breaking as I read your words of sorrow. You just opened up and let your emotions flow out onto paper. It takes a brave soul to bare one's self to all. Have you shown this to him? Your words could even melt an iceberg! ~ sending you a little hug from across the miles ~ Linda |
