Woman and your half-filled glass
come the first..gone the last
for a lady... a forceful task
on to a second trial run
inhibition has been reckoned with,
come the 10th...verbal slurs set in
come the 15th...evening's wearing thin...
Oh woman, with your half-filled glass
why do ask for more?
especially when you the ropes
and doorways are still the same
yet you fancy swizzle sticks again..
drowned out surrounding noise
to test a dignified poise.

Hmmmm! I guess the sceptic doesn't become me but I relate to this completely. Some people, men and women, can never be satisfied with the half filled glass, they would rather it be half empty it seems.

I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?”
