(For my sweet Joanna, who I love more and more everyday!)

Loving Her Like The Leaves
By: Noah Eaton
9/26/02

In my heart, in my heart
I heard the song of a meadowlark
From your branch you were congeeing
From your voice came spring, out came spring
On my trees you brought me many leaves
And I fell in love with you immediately...

Oh, how long does she have to wait for me?
Oh, how far does she need to walk for me?
Oh, how long must I treat this disease
I can't afford to lose her...

You held me, you held me
Summer was finally beginning
Bumblebees were kneading ambrosia
Never want to let you go, let you go
I want to drown in your eyes and make them my home
And kiss only your sweet lips of sangria...

Oh, how long does she have to wait for me?
Oh, how far does she need to walk for me?
Oh, how long must I treat this disease
I can't afford to lose her...

Every day a place in me is scared, scared
Scared of losing you and falling in despair
Even when I know I'm innocent I want to say sorry
Because I need to hear you love me still
Without you the trees feel like tombstones silently stilled
I don't want to love you like the leaves...

Oh, how long does she have to wait for me?
Oh, how far does she need to walk for me?
Oh, how long must I treat this disease
I can't afford to lose her...

So I say to God, please, please
Tell me we're meant to be
That she'll never have to leave me
We won't be lost again
I want to be her cherry tree
Her sunrise on the sea
All I want to do is give her spring
Without her it feels like a long December...
I want to roll and kiss her on the beach
Pick her up and carry her happily, feel her lean on me
Make Joanna the happiest girl she can be...
'Cause without her smile all the sparrows surrender...

I need to hear you love me still
Without you the trees feel like tombstones silently stilled
I don't want to love you like the leaves...
Love her like the leaves...

Hello Noah

Congratulations on yet another marvellous achievement.  Your love for Joanna has bloomed into the most beautiful bouquet and I wish for nothing but happiness for both of you.  From one hopeless romantic to another, this is for you my friend :

Love alone is capable
of uniting human beings
in such a way as to
complete and fulfil them,
for it alone takes them
and joins them by what
is deepest in themselves.

Take care......Sue

I'm anchored in you

This is incredible. It just seemed like the other day, you marked your 16,000th posting!----Now your 17,000th! AMAZING! Congratulations Noah!

This poem of love is so stirring! I have never received a love poem like this in my life! ---a few feeble, but endearing efforts---but nothing of this calibre! Joanna is a very fortunate woman indeed---but she must be extra special to inspire you to write these words.

~ May neither your pen nor your heart ever dry up! ~
