The Port Of Slade by Dochey Murphy

Churches risen on every corner,
have gone to stony public houses,
it's a travesty and the parks are squealing
to Mr Right.
There vomiting sincerity,
like you do.
All day, convenience stores are convenient
in the gutters of bus stop suburbs.
Sentimental verbs,
patch up Rik and his record,
till he looses the plot.
And you think of what you ain't got,
What you've lost, In the Port Of Slade.
And the self righteous masochist can't fail,
to mug an old lady,
to sail is forbidden as they strap you upon a cupboard, Black walls and forward.
So the vanguard corporation,
fills your boots with class,
and in class the whiteboard wails to Mr Coon,
" Nig, Nig, Nigger "
and Samuel, the preacher
works all the while, while Pharmeseutical companies
sell useless drugs, to the youths and thugs on TV.
With smiles like a tesco's checkout,
tired, worn and peaceful in poverty.
Where the drughouses with the laminated doors
and 3 floor houses
stretch and break.
Council houses, no less,
are blessed with anti-abortion slogans
of Terry Wogan with a coathanger and in Velvet,
The word "No!".
And you loose the plot,
you think of what you ain't got,
What you've lost, In The Port Of Slade.

(sad sigh) Oh my gosh, this is a powerful and provoking debut, I too feel that we have so little but ultimately we have lost much too and it will take more than just a slogan or a salutation to not necessarily save but get many to understand of this and get to see the real face of Mr. Right and protect our youth of tomorrow! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, I LOVE IT!!! Welcome to Passions, sweet Dochey, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your lovely words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Dochey, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Welcome, with open arms!
Y'know, Dochey, you are always welcome
to Dark. Man, we love good writers there.
So does Open,
but I'm bein' selfish.

Anyway...
I love what you did with this verse.
The ennui, crumble, malfeasance, slow fall
of a shantyporttown.

At least, that was my take.

Literature!

Mike
