Lullabye Of Autumn That smell, damp the leaves upon the autumn after an evening rain. Oh! Can you hear her singing? The rustle of the wind in sweet lullabye. Leaves in golden array crackling in the wind. Snap. Drifting down in soft land upon beds of dew drops fallen from the sky. Oh! Can you hear her singing? Hidden among the trees comes the trilling, sounds of winged birds broken out in song. Softly a mother in melody lulling babies off to sleep, tranquill in dreams. Oh! Can you hear her singing? In harmony the dusk spreads her blanket crossed the earth in sweet surround of peace. Oh! Can you hear her song? somebody tell me, please help me.... understand.......(as sung by Trace Adkins) {on the wings of words are spirits fly...and our souls are free~me [This message has been edited by Gentle Spirit (08-18-2002 07:43 PM).] |

I can hear her, Donna... I can even catch a glimpse of her... but I wish it would cool off just a bit, so that I could feel her breath. I love autumn, and you portrayed her beautifully. ~ hugs from the autumnal chipmunk Lyra |

Nancy, good morning and thank you for the beautiful. Tis a gift to treasure. Vas, the fall here in PA can be rather beautiful at times and it is that time of year that is endearing to me. There is so much inspiration in nature. Thank you. YES Noah, dazzle is the word! Aren't the colors splendid?? Thank you sweetie. Oh Lyra, you and I both. Sometimes listening to her breath is just about the best sound there can be. Hugs to you. Martie, yes.........a time of change. So much changes and although it would seem that many things are dying, it is really a time of living .......a start. Thanks hon. ThisDiamond, so glad you stopped by to listen. Hopefully we all will hear soon. Thanks. somebody tell me, please help me.... |

her voice of heart with two timbers one that mates one that nurtures Fall sounds are night songs of mothers cooing softly to their beloveds Donna: you met Lauren's challenge and added a new sunset to the world of poetry. My original reply was written in a fog, i apologize for that. You have such versatility in writing styles. Be well and enjoy the day! jeff [This message has been edited by ShadowRider (08-20-2002 07:40 AM).] |

Wonderfully done ~D~! It is like a lullabye, when all things go to sleep for the long harsh winter. Though I love autumns brilliant display of color, I feel a bit of sadness knowing that all that glory will fade and be replaced by that empty gray void until spring arrives...loved this! |

Ah, but you supplied the words to her song so well! Beautiful. As for me - I can't wait to greet her and sing her song. The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it. |

Your words need no music to accompany them. The melody is already intricately woven through them. ~ smiling all the while ~ EA |
