Cuddling next to you
My heart whispered its love
In tender touches you melted
The inner core of my resistance

In the firelight the wood snapped
A serenade of dancing light
That wrapped us up in a blanket
Of intertwining caresses

Just the sensation of being held
In a such a special bond
Worries of the day just disappeared
Such a simple ecstasy of bonding close

This ritual has now been played out
For many years of dedicated commitments
But the energy is always available for more
Creative bonding in never ending ways

Ahhhhhh! The recipe for a long and wonderful relationship.

I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?”
