Nancy... thanks so much... I almost didn't get the chance to make this trip and I'm still scared that something will happen between now and Wednesday to keep me from going... But the interesting thing is... that by talking about this for the past several months, I actually got doctors to get this leg thing fixed with just the right timing so that I would be able to go... My final appointment with the orthopod is on Wednesday and we are leaving straight from Ann Arbor and my radiation starts, the day after we get back... One thing about U of M is that they treat the whole patient and they all realized how much this meant to me and so they went out of their way to accommadate me for this... It might be the last vacation I ever get (I hope not, but it might be) and I definitely want to make it a memorable one... After the poet meet, we are going to see my mother in Miami, so I won't be back for a while... ~ loving hugsLyra |

Thanks so much, Kathy... I was looking for a picture of my car in motion... and this was the closest I found... Its just about exactly the same... The only difference is that my car doesn't have the spoiler... and of course I had to erase what was on the license plate and replace it with what is on my plate... ~ loving hugsLyra |

Thanks so much, Tracey... I still keep thinking that something is going to happen to keep me from going... I still can't believe that we are actually going to do this.... Now, as far as the beer is concerned... I don't think I can do that right now because I'm taking Darvocet which makes me so sleepy that unless I'm involved in conversation, I start drifting off to sleep about an hour after I take it... I think if I drank beer along with that... I might be in a stupor for the whole time... So, I'll have a great time, but I have to hold the beer. ~ drunk with happiness, chipmunk hugsLyra |

Thanks so much for the little verse, Sharon... I actually made a bunch of my poems into a book for my mother... I did this for her birthday last May, and she said it was the nicest thing I had ever given her... so she is going to get another one now... I also made one for my sister who will meet us in Miami with her husband... Her birthday is Oct. 12, so I made her one for her birthday... I wish you could be there with us.
