“DROWN MY SORROWS” by Bill Charles ~~~~ Sitting here at the bar, alone without you… Pouring down drinks, not having a clue… Don’t know where, or what I’m doing… Heading down the road, need some adjusting… Bartender another beer, to drown my sorrows… Just keep them coming, into the tomorrows… Drowning a lonely heart, once there were two… Perhaps inside this glass, it will start anew… ~~~~ |

oh how so many go seeking, as if there really were a "genie in a bottle" to grant the wishes of the forlorn...Bill, I hope this is only a poem, for you, and not currently autobiographical. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Dang! Sounds like you're singing the blues Bill... And trying to drown them isn't going to help much. How about a hug and a smile? ~Hugs~ ~ Time has cast a spell on you |

This is a poem which is toooo true for some, however...I surely don't think it is for the one who wrote this.... Nicely written. |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Bill, this is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you and I hope everything is alright; I too have these sorrows when I miss my Joanna so much and just wish I could be there with her! (sigh) This is sadly touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bill, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Gosh BC ~~ I hope this is just a poem and not really happening. There is no magic at the bottom of a glass or a bottle. My father spent his whole life looking and never found it. Be well my friend ... Hugs, Marti "Even if life is full of thorns, |

Bill for some reason this gave me an image of John Wayne slamming down his mug, demanding another. (I don't even know if he ever did that, just what it inspired). The last sentence here was very important, holding hope in the glass. I like. Sandra [This message has been edited by catalinamoon (08-19-2002 06:46 PM).] |

There's a genie in my coffeepot... honestly Bill... There is really no genie in the liquor bottle, and I hope this isn't about yourself...even though it was a great poem, full of emotion. ~ hugs from the chipmunk genie Lyra |

I liked your poem, hugs to you if its true, but hoping its not 'cause in the morn' you will still have the ache, but multiplied by 10 with a hangover to boot! |
