In the Long Run When did it happen that vision became shortened? the Now overpowering the Yet-to-be’s Saving antiquated lost art any wealth that a man is blessed with is accumulated, grain of time by grain save the minuscule few who wager wages for the Lottery of Fate to pull their number and both Won and Lost on the same day I wonder whether the Everyman realizes his folly that his short-sighted greed has replaced need and forgotten, in its haste is the necessity to preserve the Long Run (C) 2002 Picasso Lyrics [This message has been edited by ShadowRider (09-18-2002 09:18 PM).] |

(big hugggsssss) Oh Jeff, this is so heartbreaking to me, I truly believe those who are most capable of bringing light to our future are those buried in the crowds who dream and yearn for it. (sad sigh) It seems we idolize certain people over all others, those who win at American Idol and other shows like that, those sex symbols, and those who say exactly what those who already run the jobs want to hear, and that to me is saddening as our children of tomorrow deserve a place, an opportunity to operate the long run! God Bless You, sweet friend, I am praying for our children, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Hey there Noah! ?que pasa, amigo? I am with you, once more, on the same page. Where is a legacy if everything is short-sighted? We should not just 'use' up life, and leave nothing behind but our refuse of greed. Thankx guy! You are the bestest of friends! Maureen: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I did i did! How come its always YOU that catches me? Hokey Smokes! I always forget to close that HTML. Call us soon, will you? or we will call you, and check in, ok? Dulcy is gone this weekend but we will talk real soon! Thankx Maur. big smiles and big huggs for ya! Mag: i think many of the pitfalls we stumble in are small chuckholes that need filled in by looking at the Long Run. Too often we overemphasize the 'now' and de-emphasize the importance of rainy day tomorrows, or happy days to be. Personally, I look forward to EVERY day, mon ami. It's a great life! Thanks y'all, for the wonderful replies! jeff |

In this time of instant gratification, the heart will wrangle with the idea of saving for a rainy day... Sometimes, we forget that the dry spells too require care. Nicely done. ThisDiamond |

Boy, this is a really loaded piece. I will contemplate it for quite a while. On the one hand you are right on. But then I see Madame Chipmunks side as well. I think what a person can do is determined by their circumstance. Some can build toward the future...others are forced to live one day at a time. One thing I do believe, though, is if you are not enough without money, you never will be when/if you have it. I have known many who let their greed run their lives and are completely manipulated by it, it is sad. What a thought provoking write... ShadowRider - I agree with this writing 100%. What they are doing to this world is criminal, especially in the states. I've seen Florida ruin among other states. West Virginia is a beautiful state but it's in terrible shape environmentally, and I could go on... BC |
