Beanie Pals I have this fuzzy pelican who has the name of Scoop his beak is awfully big so his head will often droop. He sits atop my computer cart in a beady, black-eyed stare beside him’s a Chihuahua who matches well his glare. The Chihuahuas name is Tiny, with ears as big as wings, they look that if there’s music they just might up and sing. I admit they are an odd pair but not much odder than the two on top my monitor a leopard and his friend. The leopard’s name is “Freckles” his friend’s name is Snip , for them to meet reality would take an awesome trip. For Snip is one Siamese kitty, perhaps from Asian descent, And Freckles is from Africa or somewhere else with rent. Such as a zoo or safari fair somewhere around the world, and if they met each other, Snip’s hair would prob’ly curl. I love my little menagerie they’re all quite cute, you know. Staring at me with tiny eyes their beady pupils aglow. Sometimes I think I should sell these tiny critters I have for temporary economics they might provide a salve. Yet a tiny bit of ointment is all that they would bring and then my little Beanies could no longer make me sing. ©August 14, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Oh dear me, I couldn't even put my whole collection in a list here for you to see. An entire chest full! Beanies, Beanies everywhere. A darling poem this is. |

Well in reality, I have more than 20 regular Beanies and just under 20 teeny beanies from too many MickeyD's burgers. I've not counted them in awhile so can't recall just how many I have, but on teeny beanie even rides around in the car with me. What's even worse, many of them have furniture and exercise equipment. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, I'll seek the lighthouse evermore. [This message has been edited by VAS (08-14-2002 01:10 PM).] |

*LOL* Furniture and exercise equipment. Thats adorable. Don't think I could talk hubby into letting me go that far. You know this started out as something for my daughter. Then I just thought, you know, she really couldn't take care of them as well as I could, so this one came to me, then that on, and then this other one. Next thing I know I've got a *kingdom* of beanies. I tell her I'm just saving them for her. All the while thinking, "yeah that'll be the day she gets her hands on my beanies". I'm hopeless. |

Well, I didn't start buying furniture until my daughter bought furniture for the ones I gave her. Then she started buying beanies, too. All of a sudden, she decided she wanted to look like a grown up, well, like a grown-up lived in her apt. So she gave me any I wanted and her furniture, too. She only kept her bears and the furniture for them. I don't buy them any more, since they stopped making them. Then I didn't start again when TY started making them again. I just don't let myself look anymore, much. It only hurts when I do that I can't spare my funds for them right now. My priorities have to be in other places. Like putting more than half my income into insurances of some kind or another. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
