--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
my way of life

Lounging on coconut scented vinyl
traces of stuffed crab and scampi drift by

Condensation gathers and rhythmically
as if coaxed by the gentle lull of the surf
it slips from the frosty sides
of a frozen pina-colada
collecting in a diaphanous pool
on a bottomless teak finish

smiling I look to the bow
anchored so close to the towering palms
I fear their seeds may crack my deck

Giggling feminine voices turn my gaze
upward to the sun as polarized silhouettes
of hard glistening naked flesh approach

a fresh goblet of island nectar
is placed into my hand while smiling
twin faces gradually slip from reality
into the surreal digitizedcrimson blur
of my alarm clock

blinking repeatedly I toss back scratchy flannel
to begin the grueling inescapable ritual.

stiff icy fingers struggle with the keys
My efforts harshly rewarded by that indigenous predawn silence found only
n a dark snow-covered automobile.

arrrrrrrg

As long as you can dream, you have something to look forward to.  Enjoyed this!

Couldn't you have pressed the snooze button and extended that intoxicating dream a little bit longer? You would also have had more to write about for us to read!

Enjoyed!
