SANDPIPERING

Skittering upon the sand
Twittering lights obey
The hunger held within
That sends them on their way.

Thin gray stilts scampering
O’er toenails sharp and fine
Leaving tracks of traveler’s trail
As pastries’ sweet designs.

Decorating sands along the salty shore
Where British, Pilgrims, heroes alike
Tread so long before
Seeking freedom of the sandpiper that plays with diligence
Hunting food, nourishment not burdened by a fence

Of limitations, rules that mar, divide
Yet try to reign by glorious crimson tide.
A tide that filters in an ocean’s mighty bed
Providing sustenance and joy as animals have fed.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

BRAVO!!! Oh Virginia, I too have been to York before and I also went west to Swansea, where it is so beautiful and so many marinas to walk out on and stare out at the ocean! (smiles) This is powerful, sweet friend, I am happy you posted this treasure from the past, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
