Black slender branches reach to hold the snow. Harmonious contrasts of night & day. Icy frozen secret words. Clouds at midnight, eclipsed day. In fallen light, that tree disappears, a silhouette encased in tears. In the sun, it dries and reshapes, the leaves like tresses, clock-hung gears. Tender leaves, woven love strengthened & nurtured, sunkissed above. Rifle the fingers of sun through the wind. Kiss the imprints of roots in sand. Diamonds trickled like kisses on leaves. Pick their blooms by trunk for me. Brush the frost from fragile buds. Soft petals to lay before your destiny. Hidden in folds & sipped with sweet love, lean, once more, against black wood. For floating above, the sky's open light to paint this tree, the city, the night. |
