We chatted and we giggled too At Nobska and Wood's Hole For lunch we couldn’t figure who Owed what to save our soul. A note to Ron who traveled far In Chaos Manor’s trail Our path was paved by this “Dutch Star” To prove it wouldn’t fail We tried to do some shopping then Off to the Christmas Shop Spent five bucks each and off again The beach was our next stop Poor Titia wanted just to fish They said “No fishing here” Her dinner was a simple wish Her catch with chips and beer… Sent Marti back to old Bean Town We wished that she could stay But Cape Cod’s here when she comes down To play another day. First thing I saw as morning rose Was Titia’s warning note… “If I can’t fish here on Cape Cod I’m on that Vineyard boat!” Aboard the boat with gear and line Imagine Titia’s shock When we got there she saw a sign “No fishing from this dock” Undaunted still she searched and found A promise that there’d be “Great fishing out in Vineyard Sound” She headed for the sea We ran and hopped back on the boat, But soon the crowds all roared For there was Titia net in hand Out jumping overboard! |

Poor Titia!!! Up there in one of the fishing paradises of the world and she can't find a place to fish! How cruel!! Come to Tampa, Titia! They have fish there...and they are old...easy to catch! Sounds like you two are having a ball...just no fish! |

What a wonderful time you both are having. Nan it's a cat-astrophe that there's no fish, maybe your purr-fect poem scared them off. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Oh my gosh, I'm screaming laughing. How I would love to have stayed and seen Titia's reaction to 'No Fishing' on Cape Cod. Hmmm...seems we need to have a talk with our Ms. Governor about this! No fishing indeed!!! Bet the train ride was filled with adventure and stories. Keep the giggles flowing Nan, don't you fear, I will return. I'm going to make friends with that car of yours even if it takes all winter. And Ron, I sure hope you appreciate the camper. We chased that sucker all over Wood's Hole just to prove a point!!!! Hugs, Marti [This message has been edited by NewEnglandlazurlu (09-13-2002 01:52 PM).] |

four years ago, twas at Wood's Hole so glad the mem'ry's stirred we went through there, in fine deck chair on our way to Martha's Vineyard. Okay, my rhyme slipped a bit. I'll have to look up the poem I wrote during the crossing. Thanks for the memories and for sharing your fun and pics. Why did Titia go overboard? btw, I like to fish, but I think I'd be headin' for the Vineyard. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Nan, your da dum is improving haha, this was T-rific! Titia, tell Nan to take you to the darn shores, they are loaded with mussels and clams, will that help? Actually I love Earthensoul's idea of a Passions poetry scrapbook where each of us put our poems from visits, what a great idea, this would be a great entry. Have fun ladies, and I know you will. The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it. |

LOL Nan, great pictures! Wonderful poem! Titia is a lot of fun and a great sport! She won't mind a little tease: When Titia got to Pennsylvania Streams were all dried up She tried to catch a minnow With a little paper cup Spied by police, who questioned her You have to be sixteen And wear a fishing license That can readily be seen Then Titia said,"why yes I am Sixteen and then a few" She pinned her drivers license On her cotton shirt of blue The officer then pointed out This isn't fishing season She looked down at the trickling brook And said there is good reason The ponds and rivers all are down The water table's slack When you guys get some water here Please do invite me back Thanks Nan, Hoot Owl and Titia for your wonderful visit, which was not uneventful. Thanks again Denise for allowing us to visit with the raven. Love to all Liz [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (09-16-2002 08:00 AM).] |
