Down on my knees--I am today
I pray and worship for the lives lost that day
Lord oh Mighty, our father above
Please wrap and secure us with your never-ending love

The world needs you today, there are so many lost alone
Though they may have a house to live in, a year ago today they lost their home
So many innocent died, both women and children too
You're the only one that can touch them like only you can do

Candles are lit, flags wave high in the sky
Still though a year later, the question on everyone's mind...why?
They say good will prevail over evil, and this I believe true
It will...because of the love and goodness that comes only from you

Red white and blue mixed with those past ashes of smoke and black
The day this powerful nation was demolished and under attack
Buildings though are made of steel, and they can be built again
What though of this hatred, that just seems to never end

Satans soldiers are doing his work, and it seems the pain and loss goes on and on
So I sit here and I pray, that you will keep us safe from harm
Hold us in your hands, let us feel your unconditional love
As we wave our flags high, and lift our eyes to the sky above

Many years will pass by, but this day will be remembered always, forever
The day this nation was attacked, but united close together
I know you feel this pain, and hear the cries from those down here
Just let them know they aren't alone, and wipe away their tear

Thank you God for all you do for me and for those I love and care about
I know you will prevail, of this I have no doubt
WE as a nation seek you now, now more than ever
We will reunite and become strong again, you and us...together

AMEN!

My candles are lit,
My flag raised high
On my knees I pray and cry.

May God bless you
and us all.

This is wonderful Amy. I think we need to ask Him for guidance and the ability to heal.
