In the space between moments

I normally don't post my song lyrics, but I think I had a little divine inspiration with this one and felt the need to share 1 year later.

Catastrophe

Catastrophe, smoke in autumn leaves
We ask ourselves if we're really free
When innocence falls into the ruins
Of twisted metal and scattered ash...
Dreams and faces are cast away
By the force of blinding hatred
And peace seems to be a brilliancy
Falling somewhere beyond our reach.

The souls lost are in the thousands
And our questions so much more than that
But answers don't come easy
To hearts flooded in pain...
The atrocities burn our minds
With flames of human cruelty
And safety seems to be a luxury
Found somewhere in yesterday.

Chorus:
We need some divinity
In this war-torn world
We need some tranquility
In this war-torn world

The flags tremble at half mast
In remembrance of the life destroyed
And normalcy seems so far away
From the hell we're living now...
The tears and anguish consume our souls
With the heavy weight of loss
And peace seems to be a brilliancy
Falling somewhere beyond our reach.

Krista, we can preach tranquility and divinity but first the vermin must be eliminated or we will never have it.

Excellent writing, my friend

Thanks everyone for the comments, I truly appreciate them, as always.     I only wish I could sing and play it for you all...songs lose a lot when you don't get all the parts.  Thanks again everyone.

Songs of the heart are always the most special.

Thank you.
