undertow

I am drawn
drawn to the air in your breezes
to the spaces you keep
to the words you speak

I have only to begin
to think about you
to feel the sweet tension
the nearly forgotten presence of desire

I am drawn
drawn to your siren call
to cross wide sandy beaches
to reach your watery depths

I have only to feel
the swell of the rising tide
to smell the salts of your ocean sea
to know that I am coming home

I am drawn
drawn to the rhythm of your waves
to the crash of your rolling breakers
that will soon wash over me

I have only to be surrounded
to let you overwhelm me
to be sucked down deep
into your undertow

Nicely done!! I love the rythm of this one, Krawdad!! It makes me want to go out to the beach and watch the waves.

Hey dog, did you see the size of that chicken!?

Makes me want to go sit on the beach and listen to the crashing surf.

Superb metaphor!

a wonderful read, so uplifting in its own way! I guess exhilarating.

Absolutely beautiful.  It flows perfectly, like the in and out of the tide.  Brings to mind wonderful sunny visions.  Thank you!

Oh, my goodness---'tis such a deliciously, sensuous metaphor!

Thank you all for reading.
This started out as an "adult" piece but seemed more comfortable this way.
And I needed something comfortable for today.
