~Never Again~

Never again will things be as they were

human existance has been forever altered
by the ugly face of terror
the catastrophic scream of thousands dying
steadfast towers of strength
bastions of commerce
violently stabbed by flaming missiles of dread
a sad chronicle of inhumanity

swirling plumes of sinister black smoke
manic tongues of orange frenzy
swiftly swallowing up it's human prey
rudely spitting out the pieces

a holocaust of fury, visited on undeserving souls
the world mourns
woeful black tears pour from it's eyes
splashing across TV screens, worldwide
freedom is no longer free

twisted bodies, melted steel
human beings blasted to pieces
the contorted mask of deadly horror
minds perverted by hatred, laced with evil
the hollow victory of cowards

trust eroded, humanity ripped to shreds
gaping wounds will never heal
the very anchors of civilization... uprooted
all that was once sacred has been violated

forever lost in
the pulverized remains of our innocence

never again will things be as they were

A year later the tragedy and horror is still so hard to conceive of. The loss and sadness will remain forever it seems.

Its unbelievable, isn't it...
Did you know that my son, Victor was supposed to be at Cantor-Fitzgerald that morning for a meeting...
but the afternoon before, someone had called him and told him that he didn't need to be at the meeting because they weren't going to discuss real estate ( he's a real estate lawyer in NYC)
Whoever called him, must have been an angel

(tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless America, sweet friend, it is a horrible memory that will always be remembered yet in our hearts this day also is a reminder that God is with all and together with the powers of freedom and love we will together rise! (wipes tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, my heart goes out to all of America and those who believe in the colors of freedom, we all love you so much! My only remaining son, narrowly escaped being at the WTC that morning...
I am thankful, but sad for those who lost their lives...
A very painful day...indeed!
