(This is part three of possibly a five part series, it is too complex to capture that easily!) In a position of highest regards A civic leader of corporate America stands But why are their two faces being drawn One in truth and respect The other in lies and deceit Can this not be a distorted mirror? Whose images are not accounted for Distorted reflections of creative manipulations Whose profits are magnified tenfold In phantom images inflated to please As the benefits of leadership triple every year In real time inflated ego values The manipulations of the facts Dictate stricter compliance from dubious matters Let the leaders come back down to earth To explain their record keeping In phantom trusts they have diversified The concrete returns of stock holders In a quicksand so porous Anything could be lost to manipulations Into the mansions of glory in others In a sign of the times politicians are bought Enjoying the luxury of this new accounting system They bask in the inflated highlights As the corporate leaders get needed exposure To pull the wool over our eyes So it seems time has run out For these new medicine men With monetary cure alls For their retirement Come from our dreams Away from a bankrupt social security system ADDED THOUGHT Social security another political promise From specialized accounting principles That gives you less than you put in Taxed for it at the beginning And now being taxed at the receiving end With a reduced income So why cannot the workers Given credit for taxes paid Be exempt from one end or the other Why the double taxation? Or is this another way of getting more Of the same pie I write to open eyes and hopefully make people question things. This is the first part of regaining our countries spirit, in the pride of all its citizens. I am a troublemaker that just asks questions. Where is the harm in that within an open society? When did it become a crime to question corporate and government policies? Have we become enslaved by their power? My words shall seek an audience, which will be drowned out by those who accept things as they are. Afraid of risking change they bury their heads saying they are just one. But one is what this country is about. So one by one we must unite in a bond that make leaders respond to us as individuals not to be corrupted in inventive corporate record keeping (accounting). I don't think this style of record keeping could have been accomplished without the help of lawyers...James |
