Melancholy are the notes- Of my heart's sad refrain... "I must remain aloof, remote, And never love again." I tell myself that freedom is- No strings attached, nor bonds. Yet somehow I can't help but search, My quest goes on and on. Love? a many splendored thing? I guess perhaps it is... Yet please don't tell me it won't work, For ignorance is bliss. A dreamer? Aye, I am at that- But life, devoid of dreams... Drags on, a sullen, leaden stream, Forever, so it seems. So let me search, and let me dream- So long as I have breath... Perhaps the shades will grant me peace, When my eyes close in death. |

Gunslinger, Sorry to have ignored you for so long. But I continue to appreciate your poetry. Well done, as always. (that's the closest we have here to a cowboy!) If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Dear Gunslinger - don't give up on love!! One never knows what to-morrow might bring. Enjoyed this. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |
