echoes of grief and tears of mourning
tragic disaster; lives ripped apart
echoes of sirens grim shrill warning
spirits live on, as we remember in heart

echoes void of loved ones laughter
echoes of American tears of grief
for our memories linger, as we long after
the heroes we miss; encounter life too brief.

glisten pool of teardrops shimmer
echoing long after concrete rain
no sunbeams now, that lightly glimmer
to cast reflection on the echoing pain

echo all Americans; united, one voice
Nat’l anthem sung lamenting refrains
now forced to fight , not given a choice
as the dust settles, retrospection remains

We will not Forget….

God Bless America, The Land of the Free!!

(big hugggssssss) Oh Cheryl, this is so very powerful, I understand why you cried writing this, because I cry too thinking of September 11 and the families that suffered, but I don't only cry in sorrow but also blessed knowing God graces us all and His love goes on! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, you are an angel of words, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Cheryl, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This is tremendous...powerful!
The next few days are going to be difficult,
as we're going to relive it all again...
but how much harder it's going to be for
those who lost their loved ones.

This is a lovely tribute to a terrible time.
Very well done, Cheryl...
I especially loved the picture at the bottom,  or should I say the picture of the bottom of the baby...

Today, I shall listen to those echoes.

Thank you.
