This was to respond to a prompt in an online class I take. It was to be a short story describing a spoon as if to a blind person. Of course, visual descriptors wouldn't work. I'm somewhat concerned with the "u" remark, as a braille 'u' wouldn't feel the same. Do you find any more visual clues? After I wrote the following poem, I remembered it was to be prose, so I rewrote it that way, too. So, I'm posting both so you can see I'm a double goon at times.

                             I’m Such a Goon!

                             ah, so smooth
                             so silky
                             its lines are sleek
                             curved at one end
                             in a ‘u’
                             long, slender sides
                             cold
                             metallic
                             broadening out
                             in another, more gentle curve
                             rounded
                             and tapering to a curved point
                             where my fingers meet
                             again

                             I cup the end in my hand
                             the cool dip
                             of one side
                             the gentle bulge
                             on the other

                             an almost oily feel
                             in its slitheriness

                             then on the other side
                             of the narrow strip
                             a concave stem
                             with raised bumps
                             as letters clustered
                             void of meaning
                             for me

                             then it dawns,
                             I’m such a goon!

                             It’s a spoon!!

VAS, you're not a "double goon"---but you did "double" my pleasure with these two writes. It was interesting how you conveyed your theme in two different forms.

I also enjoyed the haha's!

Your title, "I'm Such a Goon"--drew me in, because, "It takes one, to know one!" and I wanted to gain some insight into myself! tehe
