In the courtyard above the archway Is where she waits for her Romeo She looks dreamily out the window Knowing how much she loves him so Her mind begins to wander As she remembers their first kiss His touch so warm and tender Passionate moments of such bliss He makes her feel like a princess How her lover makes her swoon Whenever she is in his presence Her spirit soars towards the moon She hears footsteps on the cobblestones Eyes meet as time stands still Her face is framed by the window As her arms rest upon the sill Their faces are almost frozen Her beauty he cannot resist How he longs to feel her close Savouring her long sensual kiss Two hearts are joined forever Of their love they now rejoice She hears him say 'I love you' And melts at the sound of his voice Slaves to their emotions Immersed in each others eyes Love will flow into the evening And long after the sun will rise I am in motion |

This is lovely Sue. I know this was probably written about a real person who waits above the archway. But with the trick of light, the mist of sunshine that appears above the arch, it almost as if the essence of every lover who waits is captured there within the light. An illusion I'm sure, but incredible all the same. The White Rose~ |

Thank you Julie, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Anne, I hadn't realised that about the light until you pointed it out. The picture reminded me instantly of Romeo & Juliet, one of my favourite love stories and it was written for the simple fact that I am a hopeless romantic. Take care....Sue I am in motion |

Sue, this is so beautiful and flooded me with a memory this morning. Several years ago, my husband and I went to Italy and visited Verona, the birthplace of Romeo and Juliet. I have a picture, somewhere, of Ron and I on Juliet's balcony. I raise my teacup to you this morning. Hugs, Marti |

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, this is sooooooo romantic, sweet friend, I LOVE IT!!! I could just imagine a ferryman paddling through this Italian canal and the beautiful woman jumping off the balcony into his love boat and they sail into the Tunnel of Love happily! (kiss on cheek) Your words always bring a sile to my face and tears to my eyes, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Wow! I'm so pleased that so many enjoyed my words. Marti, I too have been to Verona but at the time I had no Romeo to stand on the balcony with me. Noah, I know you are a hopeless romantic much like myself and I have actually been to Venice and absolutely adored it. It is truly a romantic's paradise and a place I hope to return to some day. Take care.....Sue I am in motion |
