Mistress Of Sad

Once upon a life time ago
she held happiness in her heart
but as time drifted on to fade
the light inside slowly made it's depart.

Throughout the years of turmoil
she faced many moments of strife
and gradually the dark clouds moved in
to shroud all forms of joy from her life.

Over the years the pearls of happiness
were stripped of their beautiful hue
until finally the sheen was gone
leaving her with nothing but the blue.

She walked the pathways of life
for her there was no shining light
she couldn't see her shining star
through the darkness of the night.

Her heart only held bittersweet sorrow
left inside there was no more glad
for on the day that he broke her heart
she had become the lonely mistress of sad.

Karilea, I honestly believe that IF I have ever hung a star, it has been because I have been guided by the light of others such as yourself and all of the wonderful people here at Passions.
If I could hang just one star to light the way for those who sometimes lose their way in the sadness, I most certainly would!
