There's a hole somewhere on this graven earth and it's curse'd name is Love, wise would we to give it berth but unknown's it's placement of. Is it underneath Spring's verdant lawn, does it front the flower bed where desire's sight and scent is drawn to a fruitful promise spread? Does it decoy with a Summer moon, does it wear in heated day, where the latter causes us to swoon while the former fades away? Is it luring with it's Autumn leaves us like tourists to it's hues assuring that the browser grieves when the forest color's lose? Does it hide beneath the Winter snow like a pure and virgin gift to then bequeath a chilling woe when it smothers in the drift? To a parched and blistered man it's waters though a drop, seems a barrage, the single minded lamb to slaughter found at trail's end a mirage. |

Yes, Mr. Wells, love is everywhere... hiding in every season. I don't know why, but this gave me the sense that you, or perhaps others, should shy away or be afraid of love... as though you have perhaps been hurt. But, you are quite correct..it is right there.. waiting for you to reach out and take it. Hummm, you hesitate sir..and, I am beginning to ramble..lol Therefore, let me just say, this is now one of my favourites of yours, which I shall tuck away in my library. Well said poet sir. ~Hugs~ ~ Time has cast a spell on you |

(sigh) This is outstanding, sweet friend, your words are always so influentially exciting, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richard, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

When it comes to giving and receiving LOVE, you're damned if you do, but more damned if you don't. It is ubiquitous and omnipotent, and I cannot understand how any human could possibly avoid it, even if they tried. |

I guess like the lamb...I'll walk right off the cliff every time....I keep thinking I'll get it (love) right sooner or later...or die trying I guess. If all the tear drops went to heaven |

Richard, sadly this is one of your very best emotional poems yet. I don't agree with this poem inasmuch as I think any love at all, lost or found, is still love, and worth having experienced. The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it. |

Sometimes, when lost in the desert and the thirst is unbearable, we drink the sand. May you find your oasis. |
