Shoes off, impulsively the tickling of toes on soft grasses Wandering among the changing guard as summer passes As if by sentience the remainder will become more vivid Until the step upon the thorns to interruptions livid Shoes off, to rub away the painful sting of insurrection Wondering if somehow now prelude a mere infection As if the only memory would come about the deepest pain Until the step into the meadow where remade the petals rain Shoes off, never to be worn again within the petal path Wandering among the fallen flowers in the stormy aftermath As if by chance the eminent of dreams could reappear Until the step without a doubt moves musically to bring you here Shoes off, shoes off and lost in toss upon the distant briar snare Wondering the moments passing softly in the muted colors there As if the never ending story writes itself before my very eyes Until the step upon the softly fallen, did I think myself so wise? (big hugggsssssss) Oh my gosh, this is a powerfully introspective write, I know how you feel as the seasons may change so drastically along with its reasons but truly you are filled with wisdom and again you will be able to walk barefoot because summer will always come and go like every season! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kathleen, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Shoes off, never to be worn again within the petal path Wandering among the fallen flowers in the stormy aftermath As if by chance the eminent of dreams could reappear Until the step without a doubt moves musically to bring you here This is an absolutely gorgeous write, Kathy... I love the repitition of the "shoes off" as well as the beautiful imagery all the way though ~ hugs from a barefoot chipmunk Lyra |

I love this, probably because I love to walk barefoot. I usually do it in the sand not in the grass, but both are good places, grass tickles your toes if it’s too long, maybe even your ankles. |

How do you do it? Such vivid imagery within a piece that is very ethereal to me. Practically everyone is boggling my mind today. Do I need to go eat some fish? You know, brain food. I know I would love dancing upon petals in bare feet and would dread the thorns as well. Maybe the ethereal is brought about by the dream weaving imagery. Oh, my, lovely thoughts that collide with a feathery fuzziness in my head. It's not even Monday! Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Kathy, in my old age, words sometimes require repetetive viewing to comprehend what has been masterfully penned by a gifted lady... I sense an emergence of a new woman....one who has taken off the shoes and now walks a path...a treasured path, easily and without fear...having thrown away the things that keep her from becoming in touch with what she is experiencing... Mayhaps I am wrong, mayhaps not... Either way, it is a beautifully written poem of feelings... |

Wonderful images of freedom and the pain of casting aside that which would hinder us. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
