She found this 'lil book
on "how to write poetry"
it didn't matter young or old
you see, a poet you can be.

It teaches one how to write
things called Haiku and Terzanelle
heck it don't have to be perfect
I say just try to write it well.

It has these little examples
of Dickinson and of Frost.
Me try to write like them?
Hell no, I would be lost!!

When my daughter found this 'lil book
these words she said to me
"Maybe between this book and you
I'll learn to write this thing called "poetry.

I don't know if I'll ever write
like you or Ms. Emily do"
It was then that I told her
"It don't matter, just write like YOU!"

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Donna darling girl you’ve again written such a beauty your pen always writes so well and when you speak the truth you shine. No one can write like another we all of us have our own paths, I’m so glad you have discovered this and passed the wisdom onto your daughter.

I love the way YOU write and I’m sure I’d love anything she did too. Absolutely excellent writing, I love this utterly utterly utterly.

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

That is so true
she will find her own voice
and in that alone
she will be like you...

Well, if she even writes half as well as her mother...she will be an excellent writer!
I have never learned to do the structed things you mention in this piece and it's mostly because it just isn't me...I'm a free spirited person and really prefer free verse.
You have to be yourself and do what's comfortable.
Loved this poem Donna!

Can I borrow the book?  This is a good lesson you teach.  Thank you for the "book" reading.

(smiles) Oh Donna, I love this, sweet friend, yes, yes, it is our own creativity that makes a poem super and filled with magic! (kiss on cheek) I love what I write and even if someone doesn't like it, I don't care because we all have our own views of what is good or not, and I love your writings! (kiss on cheek) This is fabulous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

if I had boundless energy, i would type "i love it" indefinitely, but as i dont, once will have to suffice. Its such a down to earth poem, with no flamboyant language, but it is very well written. Please keep adding more of your thing called 'poetry' to the endless supply here.

its amazing what one single word can do.
