Rhyming...at a Finer Diner By Larry Chadwick It was a simple and pleasant meal, Yet cause for my little brother’s consternation. We were simply sharing the food, When he was troubled by the conversation. Mom was serving burgers for supper, And Dad said, “Pass me a bun, son.” Complying, he immediately fell silent, Not partaking, it appeared he might be done. But finally the light came on in him, And he appeared to be quite happy. Waiting for the time to be just right, He proudly said, “Please pass me a paddy, daddy!” June 24, 2002 My brother at twelve Show you care to those you love...today.
