In Honor of Parents No one is gone forever There is a place that they reside Sometimes in the sunlight Oft’times in shadows abide No one is gone forever A reminder that all must pass But in one’s memory live on, Loving times of their past No one is gone forever Their gifts, sweet treasured memories No way their love to sever For I hold them fast to me. |

Ah Karilea, This write brought a big ole lump to my throat this morning. My parent have both passed over... But I continue to hold them both very close to my heart. Beautiful words so eloquently expressed ~Hugs~ |

Karilea~ Very loving and precious honor to parents....very touching.....hugsssss Lauren~ I would rather have one breath of his hair, one kiss of his mouth, one touch of his hand than an eternity without it. [This message has been edited by Greeneyes (06-11-2002 10:05 AM).] |

Oh, thanks. I love this. I have had to say goodbye to both my grandparents and my Dad in recent years. Still have my Mom though, and I am appreciating her more! Sandra |

How very beautiful... A much welcome tonic for the "dreads" I've been wallowing in lately. *S* |

I still have both of my parents alive, but across the country from me - and I must share this with them to let them know that they are thought of, always. Very lovely, Karilea - as usual! |

No one is gone forever Their gifts, sweet treasured memories No way their love to sever For I hold them fast to me. You speak volumes with this piece, Karilea. Right now, I am about halfway between the anniversaries of the deaths of my first husband and my son....and on June 20, it will be exactly 37 years since my marriage to my first husband... these days are heavy with memories for me, and your poem brought so many of them home. Of course there are good memories too! Tomorrow is the 2 yr anniversary of the day that David and I first met. Thanks for sharing your lovely poem and your sunshine with us. ~ sunshiny hugs Lyra copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (06-11-2002 08:16 PM).] |

I know these feelings...I think and feel many of your own thoughts of my parents as well.....They have both given me many wonderful memories which are far more than any of the past memories that were dark or sad.... Beautifully written words of truth and love. |

(smiles) Oh Karilea, this is wonderful, sweet friend, yes, parents are so wonderful to have in society today, for, unless of course they are abusive, they will always satisfy a childs needs and it is them who makes child grow and fulfill their dreams and help them find something to believe in! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
