A night to bring to ear the plot to save the land from blood in shed, to steal the queen and ransom sought or surely all will die, be dead. A roll of dice on floor of stone to cast the fate of chosen few. Fall of bones in twirl and drop before last meal of hottest stew. Cross the moat and traverse the wall to find the bed of sleeping queen The bravest of the lot stands tall to guard from wake in blacken sheen Stealth will take across floor of earth to stairs of spiraling stones high till one will wait before the door in hopes of not sounding the cry The flicker of the torches cast on wall the shadow of the thief, as one by one lone guard is slashed and blood of knife is gone to sheath A creak so slight in darkest night as door is cracked to spy the view. The thief now spurred by naked sight of queen’s repose against the dew. Each step in stealth toward the bed as heart in chest does throb the ear. A knife is drawn if blood be shed to quell the scream of fright in fear The rise of breath within soft chest where dreams have come to sleeping queen. A pounding heart from in the breast the captor waits in view the scene. From the chamber above the moat a rope is let to ground below. Where men lay quiet in leaking boat to take the prize and softly row. Queen of beauty, queen of the night Sleep before the dawn of first light For in the boat you will reside to force the peace before we’ve died. Were you actually there when this happened, Barry ? These guys actually thought they could get away with stealing the queen.... and how come it wasn't on CNN? but it was a beautiful story poem anyway... ~ majestic hugs Lyra |

as I was reading this I kept seeing bits and pieces from the movie The Mists Of Avalon.....or First Knight..... perhaps this will be the next one I actually watch on TV. Sounds like a keeper to me. *s* I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance~~(Garth) |

(smiles) This reminded me of a movie too, only I thought of "The Count of Monte Cristo" reading this (have you seen that movie yet, it is really good! This is a delightful heroic tale, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! You take the story, then put to poem for in our hearts, it finds a home... |

The die is cast the vote is in this story poem made me grin at first I thought aha it's chess until the time when I confess the queen was taken then I cried the leaking boat won't be denied not matter how the story goes I loved this your talent shows.
