Could you sit down here beside me-
Could we talk a little while?
As I tell you of my past life,
How I love to watch you smile...

Could we dream for just an hour-
Of a life that cannot be-
A life where I belong to you,
And you belong to me.

I will tell you of the desert-
Of the tropic island waves...
Of the lovely mountain meadows....
Of the lonely western graves.

You get lost in all my memories...
That I love with you to share...
With my words I paint you pictures-
Make you feel like you are there.

I can tell you of the loneliness-
That dwells with western men...
The bunkhouse, or the line shack...
Both are places I have been...

The beauty of the midnight sky-
The brilliance of the stars...
The gentle glow of Venus...
And the angry glare of Mars...

The course of every wild goose-
And wolf that's running free...
Where ever my thoughts take us-
You are always there with me.

(sigh) Oh John, I can feel such yearning in these words, sweet friend, know that your love will always think of you too, for between Venus and Mars there will always be existing galaxies of sweet memories that can never fade! (big hugggsssssss) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet John, thank you for sharing!
