Gentle manatee gliding through the water
Gently swimming down the river
Going toward the spring so clear
Eating vegetation
Taking in air
Heading toward the spring so clear
Staying with the herd
Nursing their young
Oh Gentle manatee
Going toward the spring so clear
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you like. This is my 3rd and final poem for the day. Thanks to everybody who likes my poetry.
I think that I shall never see
none as gentle as the manatee
gliding, as you say, from here to there
tending it's young with meticulous care
no, I think that I shall never see
none gentle as the manatee...
loved this...
Hello Julie
I really liked this as I had recently watched a documentary on the manatee and found them to be fascinating creatures.
Take care......Sue
A trusting and gentle animal who is threatened by it's placid nature and our encraochment. Enjoyed
Thanks for sharing this. Those incredibly gentle sea cows deserve our TLC, our efforts to clean up their watery habitat, and to stop injuring and killing them with our giant water "human" toys.
~Find them and this poem to be quite special. Know of one who helped push a friend's fallen nephew from the water. Enjoyed this. *Peace.
Now that you mention it, manatees are quite gentle, aren't they?
Wow, I love this... have you considered submitting it for the book?
