In wait of time to come to be. To bring before their destiny. To call to arms the chosen men and take to fall or give to win. A night of rest those weary souls before the din of drummer’s rolls. A fire to break the chill of heart as warriors sleep before the start A bow, a shield, a lance and knife. The tools of war, to take one’s life. An axe, an arrow and the mail to aid the cause and bring to flail Ladders long for bridging the moat. No place for sail or wooden boat. The oil above to scald and fry and bring from lungs a soulful cry Thousands come to scale the high walls where hundreds scream upon their falls while archers draw the dreaded bow to fly the arrow, deal the blow. At end of day upon the night beneath the moon of silver’s light, a crimson sheen for all who fell shall flow the stream as warriors dwell. To victors go the spoils of war across the lands both near and far to bring to life their freedom’s choice from those who sing with strength and voice. |

As much as this is set in another time isn't it interesting how far we have NOT come in this respect. Well done, Sir Barry. Sandra |

Sandra, I don't think we will ever change.. All we do is make it more clinical where you no longer have to see the face of the enemy before you kill them... Thanx dear lady... |

(big hugggsssssss) It is something I feel may never be altered either in a mans emotions that is triggered by the wicked lies and crimes we do to each other, but I do believe we can make more progress in ending this carnage and easing the effects of the turmoil! (sigh) This is very well-said, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Magnus darling boy I love this, its flow is perfect. YOU darling heart always write well. The emotion you can draw from the reader is amazing you seem to know exactly how to draw the reader into the poem, it animates it breathes it lives. I can only say no one writes like you do, I love it utterly, it matters not what the style is, you exceed my expectations all the time, I love it utterly utterly utterly.
