I emptied my heart into the palm of my hands
Held them out to you to give to you
As you had taken my gift
You burned it with your heartless soul
You engulfed my body with pain and disbelief
Now a shallow hole rests inside of my chest
My soul echoes through the crevases
Waiting and yearning for the void to again be filled
But fear now stands at the gates of my heart
You have violated my innerbeing
Have come to my life like a thief in the night
Raped my soul of any emotion, Of love
Fantasies and dreams I once had are now shattered
With the pieces to be swept away by the winds of time
And you only to be left as a memory
That I will soon forget
