It's So Hard Growing Up By: Noah Eaton 8/11/02 It's so hard growing up It's so hard finding a place I wish I could visit a yesterday before I was born To be obligated To be emancipated I something I still yearn to see, this something more If I could dance whimsically Like a mimosa tree If I could be that ladybug drinking her summer rain wisteria daiquiri If I could paint myself in yellow Unravel these unfinished odes Under my patio Re-mix them in a harmonic demo So I can sing alongside all of you sweet and slow How long must I wait for this? How long must I wait for this? I've long been resting with this wet blanket I'm on this last breath Waiting for this... They say I can't jaywalk destiny They say I can't solicit my own creed But I wait for someone to hand me a key I'm suprised That I've felt solemnized When all I want to be is free How long must I wait for this? How long must I wait for this? I've long been resting with this wet blanket I'm on this last breath Waiting for this... Please, please Aren't there any friends who'll invite me in dearly Please, please Aren't there any friends who want to talk with me Please, please If I am nothing man than just lift me Please, please I wish I could just inspire someone Make someone smile, make someone rise Some must think I'm troubling You may say I'm complicating Is it just me or am I undeserving? It's so hard growing up It's so hard finding a place I wish I could be like you and find my space How must I find my place? What must I do to find my place? "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." Shakira [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (08-12-2002 12:38 AM).] |

Just give it time......heck, I haven't even got all of it myself and I been trying alot longer than you believe me. LOL BTW......you DO give plenty of smiles in here and no-one could debate that. You are right though....it is hard growing up but in the end it will happen even if you don't want it to and someday you will wish that you had more time before it happened. Enjoyed taking a look at your thoughts in this piece. |

Hon, at 56, I am still searching for me! Still hoping I will make a difference in someone's life. You my young friend, you have years to go...use all your gifts and talents, of which there are many, and you will find yourself. Life is a journey with twists and turns, ups and downs. Take one day at a time and enjoy the joy of today. Hugs, Marti |

Noah... Keep the child in you alive... don't ever let it get away, because I can tell you from my experience... Its much less fun to be grown up than it is to be a kid... and I have had a pretty good life as an adult... but I would just love to be a kid again! ~ hugging you dearly Lyra |

Noah, you always have a friend here, when you get blue. I agree growing up is hard, and guess what, when you are growing OLD it's even worse. So I guess we just have to work on liking the moment as well as possible. Luv ya hon Sandra |

Noah I don't ever want to grow up...life will be over then. Each day is a part of growing, each minute makes a difference. I remember feeling like you do though when I was young...somehow the time passed. Hugs! |

You already have you live life one day at a time and live and experience life. As does everyone happiness and saddness both come and go it is just the choices you make and live by to get what you want out of it... |

Noah, what incredibly deep thoughts you have for a young man. Growing up is never easy, but with time on your side enjoy each and every moment. |

Hello Noah, You're getting lots of good advice here Noah, what I would add would be a repitition of what's already been said, except this... the fact that growth occurs in stages and you shouldn't push it just as you suggested in your poem...life is full of learning and rethinking, just keep those thought processes alive and be happy in what you do [This message has been edited by ecrivan (08-13-2002 10:21 AM).] |
