Listening to every heart

It's In The Card

Over ten years old now, it sits out all the time
a pleasant little card, one that is just mine,
a china doll on her seat, heirloom silk replete
blackest hair, china shy-blue eyes
on wicker stool, you can hear her sigh

words on the card front, denoting memories
a mother's recollection of echoes in the eve
here she calls me special, like she did back then
inside the card I'm her little one
no matter where, no matter when

and in her Mom-scrawl, a running hand
she notes I'll never realize [she still commands]
how very proud she always was
of me, her firstborn, it gives me pause
over ten years gone, these words still cause

a tear.

Over ten years old now, it sits out all the time
a pleasant little card, one that is just mine.

Treasure it Karilea...I hunt now for anything with my
late mother's handwriting on it...
her script had such a beautiful flair..
I hadn't seen anything quite like it...until..recently.
Just hang on to it sweetie...and to the words and the memories.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Karilea, this brought tears to my eyes, this is soooooo beautiful and I am so happy you have this special keepsake to treasure, which I know these words are bound to tattoo your heart forever as your mom will always love you and be so proud of the sunshine you have given her and always will!
