May This Not Be Prophecy What were those ideas slipping by on the sly? How are they retrieved? Conceived? Believed? Wrinkles of time confuse, refuse, bemuse. Thoughts come walking up, interrupt, then erupt in mindless gaze to recapture, enrapture, synapse cure. Misfired logic escapes, reshapes my tape. Nostalgia is a hard thing to miss out on. Don’t you agree? How might one wax nostalgic of a history lost to webbed wiring, misfiring? Old timers’ Alzheimers conspires to steal one’s zeal. ©August 10, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
