$70,000 Canadian dollars for Bengal tiger parts?
it's a wonder how the specie survived until today
decline of animal species around
anthromorphocentric tendencies abound
big academic word anthro.. whatever
dealers in rare body parts are clever
find their way through custom gates
a question of time...never too late?
to ebb illicit skin traffic flows...
together with the bone, organs
other tissues glow in the dark
eradication of fauna is stark..

But there are funds to protect you declare
I see dwindling fauna numbers glare
grizzlies still trip those snares
around the world on eighty day fares?

Travel to the earth's cardboard reaches
create protective parks, make grand speaches
today you'll protect, defend
but for trafficed body parts
there is no certain end
until the animal is extinguished.

Where will the next aphrodisiac come from?
tomorrow we'll wake up alone on a planet
waiting for the next pillage,
Waiting for Godot,
another specie goes to meet its maker...
this is what we don't teach our children.

True Martin,
this is exactly what we don't teach our children.

sad disclosure, this

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

A poetic bit of an important but very sad truth...
Very well expressed, Martin
