Thanks so much for your reply, Lauren... I just edited it because I think when you read it, some of the colors were missing... but I'm glad you enjoyed it. ~ gourmet hugs Lyra |

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I love this, sweet friend, I love art and love coloring with crayons! (kiss on cheek) Ever since I was a little boy I loved drawing butterflies and smiling happy-face suns and trees, and I still love to draw many things for Joanna! (kiss on cheek) This is beautiful, sweet friend, we all love you so much, ooohhhhhh...and I was so happy talking to you on the phone today, that was wonderful, yay! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

I was more of a watercolor child. But my daughter does have a collection of about 900 crayons. I'm thinking about passing it on to my grandson since she has long since outgrown the coloring stage. Enjoyed this read very much. There are a million messages, |

When I was a kid, at the house we had a huge cookie tin just FULL of crayons. Every time I opened the lid, you'd get that waxy smell. Of course, I tried eating one once (really little then). The paper stuck to the roof of my mouth and the flavor was nasty. That's when I learned that colors doesn't necessarily mean taste. So stay away from the green acorns! |

Thanks so much for your reply, Noah... I find it so interesting that most of the poets here, have at least one other artistic interest...so it doesn't surprise me at all that you are interested in drawing... Thanks so much for the phone call last night, it was wonderful to talk to you. ~ artistic hugs Lyra |

Thanks so much, Donna... I guess chipmunks usually don't brighten the world.....instead, they usually cause trouble... I'm glad I do both... ~ hugs from a colorful chipmunk Lyra |

Karilea...thanks so much for answering me in colorful verse... I think Crayola crayons have been around for so long that they have become an American institution... like cowboy hats, apple pie and the Statue of Liberty...amongst others ~ colorful chipmunk hugs Lyra |

Thanks so much, Mr.Squirrel, especially for the warning about the green acorns... I actually used to like eating the crayons. I used to pretend that the red ones tasted of cherry and the purple ones of grape...etc. etc. Its amazing what a kid's mind can do. I guess thats why they are so good at playing pretend. Its something which we (unfortunately) outgrow. There are some things which I would just love to pretend didn't exist right now, like cancer and terrorism. Maybe I should go back to kindergarten again!!!! ~ Crayola colored rodent hugs Lyra |

Oh how fun this poem is! I love your creative colors. Coloring was never my thing when I was little, but my 28 year old daughter to this day loves coloring and is beyond thrilled if we give her a new box of Crayola's. Hugs, Marti |

Thanks Marti... I never liked coloring too much...but I used to draw with crayons a lot... I drew all over the walls in my parents house, and to this day...I don't think my mother has ever forgiven me for my crayola adventures... and then when she caught me eating them...well, that was another story! ~ crayola hugs Lyra |

Lyra I can picture you with those crayons...your tongue out just a tad in concentration...coloring in and out and between the lines. Loved this memory keeper. |

Thanks so much, Martie...but the truth is, I always hated coloring...preferring instead, to draw my own pictures. Many times I got in trouble for doing that at school...I also got in trouble for eating the crayons.... lets just say that I was always in trouble... ~ troublesome kindergarten chipmunk hugs Lyra |

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Mark... I don't have mine anymore, but I have a huge tin of crayons which belonged to my kids. My grandkids play with them when they are here...but those crayons are not leaving this house.....in my lifetime... and I don't eat them anymore either. ~ hugs from a striped rodent Lyra |

I developed an ulcer site when I was in the navy. The doctor said it was stress related. He ordered me to get a coloring book and crayons.I was told to do a page each day with the following instructions. 1.It's ok to have green cows and brown grass. 2.It's ok to color outside the lines. It was cheap but effective therapy.Yes,and it was fun also. paladin |

Thanks Marie... They are fun, but I recently bought some pastel crayons and they are even more fun except that they are really messy and get all over my hands. They aren't necessarily pastel colors. They come in all of the bright crayola shades and they are fun to draw with except for the mess. ~ Crayola chipmunk hugs Lyra |

Thanks for your reply, Paladin... I can see how drawing green cows outside the lines can be very relaxing... The brown grass, though is very common this summer... I see it all over the place. Do you still do that for therapy? ~ therapeutic coloring book hugs Lyra |
