vanilla is wing shoe flavor
to little boys without dollars
and to trees that don't have names
nor would they answer anyone

well maybe the wind
who calls them all rustle
except in winter

I found you on e drive
you were fresh painted
and I knew your color eyes
like the taste of my own scent

but I couldn't remember your name
although I had said it backward
a thousand times in dreams

talking backward is different
than talking back you said
and you were just stubborn
with your inside toy

dirty was ok you said
but you hated stolen parts
and you knew I would break yours

so you put it long legged high
in the tree by my window
and left the leaves off
just in case I didn't notice,

you were wing tip bare foot
when we went to the ice cream store
you were vanilla in a new dress sunday

and I just pretended to be chocolate..

softly smiling here Dark,
I liked this one.
hmmm...you sure you weren't just
chocolate syrup??  *winks*

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Two spoons
spooning
in dark woods dawn
Footpaths winding
to simple places
dancing on feet top
all the way
vanilla swirls
rich
in chocolate

Couldn't help myself..I love this verse.

Sincerely,
Reg

DS

So many fresh images in this, I know I won't find in any icecream store:

your pen is such a cool place!

Hi Dark!

I found these lines astounding--

you were wing tip bare foot
when we went to the ice cream store
you were vanilla in a new dress sunday

And I enjoy being astonished by your unique style and fantastic imagery.
