Lyra darling heart this is utterly utterly wonderful, you have such a gift of writing beauty darling girl. The story behind this is amazing the strength of your spirit is also amazing it like you is a shaft of wonder that fills the page with your light. Thank you so much, Bill. The reason that this butterfly means so much to me is that when my first husband was dying, he said that he would send me a sign that he was okay somewhere, after he died. At his burial...just as the coffin was being lowered into the grave, a big beautiful Tiger Swallowtail butterfly which looked exactly like the one in the picture...flew up out of the grave (butterflies don't ever go underground), it flew right between his sister and me...and it brushed my cheek as it flew past. I believe that this was the sign from him. He has since sent me other unmistakable signs that he is watching over me. ~ butterfly hugsLyra |

Thanks so much for that amazing compliment, Marsha... I think I have posted and re-posted this poem about 5 times and it always seems to be enjoyed. Probably because it is about a real incident and it was written with love. This is one of the first poems I wrote after my first husband died....and I hadn't written in several years. ~ butterfly hugsLyra |
