“WHEN I WAS WALKING”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Once when I was walking
in the deepest forest,
I found a leprechaun,
who had just surfaced…
Granted me a few wishes,
only just wanted some,
of peace and serenity,
love that wouldn’t abandon…
Something to hold onto,
deeply, perhaps forever,
a closeness never known,
nothing, to ever hamper…
Once when I was walking
in the deepest forest,
he promised I would find,
one who was the warmest…
Smiling here...
even in the darkest
shade of the deepest
forest, one can find
the warm...
BC ~ I hope you found that warm heart to go with yours. You never know what's just behind the shadows of the forest.
Aye my friend,  I say to you
As a Leprechaun I shall do
one wish I give to you today
one wish for love to ever stay.
Nice write BC...
Bill,
I think you may have been given a touch of the Blarney in your wish. Wonderful words.
Very cute and sweet poem.
May beggars ride!
Might I borrow your leprechaun?
This is nice, Bill. Whimsical, yet touching.
